Interestingly enough, the fact that Matt is gay really hasn't come up all that much before now. He's a decent actor and definitely looks the part, so isn't that enough?
This seems a bit silly since Matt has shown that he can play a straight man perfectly fine on White Collar. And how could any woman complain about Matt Bomer getting cast in the 50 Shades of Grey movie after seeing him as a life-sized Ken doll in Magic Mike?
Matt obviously doesn't want being gay to affect what roles he gets. Here's what he said about it:
"What we really have to do is stop the adjective before the job title -- whether it's 'black actor,' a 'gay actor' or 'anything actor. Everybody thinks that equality comes from identifying people, and that's not where equality comes from. Equality comes from treating everybody the same regardless of who they are. I hope the media and the press catches on to that because it's time to move out of 1992."

YanıtlaSilOKAY... no problem with the part being played by a gay man because being gay CERTAINLY does not affect the role of Barney Stinson in my mind BUT... I wish for this movie to be as GRAPHIC as the novel and that would involve him going places that maybe HE would rather not! I want it to be on a parr with "SHORTBUS" as far as how graphic it is!!! :)

He looks the part perfectly. And since when does it matter what sexual orientation an actor is? Straight actors play gay characters all the time so why should care if it's the other way around? And so it's okay for a married actor to play a single character but not okay for a gay actor to play a straight character? Why is everyone carrying on like pork chops. It's called ACTING!!!!!

YanıtlaSilThe book sucks and it's basically porn. If Channing Tatum does the roll, he'll probably loose a lot of fans because erotic movies aren't his thing. He does comedies and romances such as She's The Man & The Vow. He's only able to do it if his wife can play Ana. Ryan Gosling shouldn't do it either basically for the same reason. Their career doesn't need to be ruined due to some writer writing a book with crappy dialogue. Also, is shouldn't matter if someone is gay or not, Neil Patrick Harris played a womanizer in How I Met Your Mother, and if you wouldn't even know he was gay with how well he played the part. Sexual orientation shouldn't have anything to do acting. It's called ACTING for a reason.

YanıtlaSilI'm liking a lot of the proposed choices for the Christian Grey role. I have read these books twice & feel expecially after seeing him in the Magic Mike movie, he would be perfect for the role.
YanıtlaSilWhile watching him & fully knowing his orientation I had no problem believing that he would do a fantastic job. Being gay didn't take away from any of the sexual heat he gave off.
I don't care that he's gay & believe that if he has the best chemistry for this role then he should get it. Don't worry he will definately make me wet again like he did on the big screen during Magic Mike.
Very sexy & lickable man & even though I'm straight, I can go watch it with my gay friends & we'll discuss who's turned on more.
