Small Business Advertising

Until lately, online marketing and advertising and promotion were something the big firms did. Back then, local businesses did not see any need to conduct online advertising. Local searches have replaced print directories such as yellow pages and even the white pages. Very simply put, if your small company cannot be found online, you will not grow, and there is a good chance that you will not live to tell the tale.

The idea of this article is to present some of the options available to small company and local small businesses for promotion or campaigning online on the internet. This piece of writing will address sections on; video infomercials, classified ad posting, setting up a Google Places account, producing a website and optimizing it for page one results on a SERP, and harnessing the power of the Social Networks.

Paid Ad Postings

Free and paid classified ads posting can be very lucrative if done right or a total waste of time and money if not executed in a marketing friendly way. The two most popular free classified ad sites are Craig's List and Backpage. Each of these sites permits text and graphic ad postings, and both allow html. Unluckily most people who own small corporations do not know the html web language necessary to fabricate picture ads, so most of the advertisements are uninteresting black and white text ads. What is more important regarding these ads is that frequently the search engines unearth them and bring them to page one for specific product or service searches. Instead of painstakingly reading these text ads the possibly paying customer says to heck with it and goes to the next SERP result without ever discovering out what you were advertising; a tragedy! These ads hardly ever have much if any promoting doctrine enclosed within them such as clickable links to more information!
